LOCATION OF YOUR PLANT
Many plants benefit from bright, indirect light, such as that coming from an east-facing window. You might need to relocate the plants away from the windows if your windows face west or south, or you might want to reduce the intensity using sheer drapes or a light curtain.
One of the most crucial elements for cultivating indoor plants is light. For photosynthesis, the process by which plants turn light, oxygen, and water into carbohydrates, all plants need light (energy).
This energy is necessary for plants to develop, bloom, and set seed. Without enough light, plants cannot produce carbohydrates, their energy stores run out, and they eventually die.
How plants are affected by too little or too much light
The green pigment in plants, chlorophyll, is not produced when there is insufficient light, and as a result, plants can change color from pale green to yellow to white.
Plant stems "legs," or grow long and slender, giving the impression that they are reaching towards the light source.
The plant develops lengthy intervals between the leaf nodes on stems when it receives little light (the point where a leaf grows out from the stem).
Without enough light, plants may also lose their leaves, particularly older leaves.
A plant with variegated leaves (white and green leaves) may eventually turn all-green.
Some flowering plants may not develop flower buds.
Plants exposed to excessive light risk having leaves that are bleached and burned.
For some plants, fluorescent lighting can be used in place of sunshine.
HOW MANY HOURS OF SUNLIGHT DO PLANTS NEED
Plants that bloom require 12 to 16 hours of sunshine each day.
Leafy plants require 14 to 16 hours of light each day.
Avoid moving your plants around.
Plants may more easily reproduce and thrive in their particular ecosystem thanks to adaptations, which they then pass on to their progeny. No matter where they are grown, all plants are adapted to specific environmental factors, such as soil type, temperature, water availability, and interactions with other animals and species.
Instead of just giving plants sunshine, also use Srustee's liquid plant food once a week to see healthier plants with more fruits and flowers in just 30 days. Click on the button below to learn more.
